National Water Research Institute Recognition

The National Water Research Institute (NWRI) presented David's wife, Sandy White, with an award of recognition at the NWRI 2007 Clarke Prize Award ceremony and lecture. The award was presented by Jeff Mosher, NWRI Executive Director.

Environmental engineer James L. Barnard, Ph.D., BCEE., of Black & Veatch, received the 2007 Clarke Prize for his groundbreaking use of bacteria through the biological nutrient removal (BNR) process to remove both nitrogen and phosphorous from wastewater. Dr. Bernard's lecture was dedicated to the memory of David C. White, who received the Clarke Prize in 1995.
